DBZ was just repeating itself. Strong enemy, Goku and the others punching his face, 1 million hours powerup scream, everybody gets supersajan, killing enemy, another strong enemy, punching his face, bla bla bla.
I think DBZ is a lot better when it comes to action but the original TRUMPS it with presentation. I'm guessing that it's because we were new to the characters so we expected a lot more. I do adore DBZ more that DB because of nostalgia purposes but if you tell me whats wrong with it I could probably tell you a dozen more examples. Off the top of my head, my main nitpicks are that the stories paced poorly after a while, Almost every character except Goku (well the sayians in general) devolved into cannon fodder, The ending of the Buu saga felt like a MAJOR cliff hanger leading up to DB:GT, Chi Chi was an annoying hypocrite, Bulma became useless (much like most of the more human and non fighting friend characters), and there's a lot more I can rant about.
Because everything was so round and more mystical. DBZ is like the Michael Bay version of Dragonball sometimes :l The new movie was amaaazing though, animation was stellar and the story was pretty solid.
Haha, yeah! The original Dragonball is so such a fun-loving, goofy adventure! I suppose Dragonball Z is too po-faced and drawn out and full of blah blah. That is my most eloquent analysis. Gorsh, I adore the sense of dynamism in your drawings! So much life. Rad!
Because Dragonball has a sense of adventure and fun and draws heavily from Eastern mythology, and Dragonball Z is... freakishly large-haired and large-muscled men taking twenty episodes to charge up an attack.
Anyway. Beautiful drawings. I love the liveliness you imbue all of your art with.
