Hey Anthony, This is incredible!! I hate to by that guy that asks how you do it but how are getting that static hold move feeling? where the line slightly wiggles but not too much? it just brings it to life! Are you just redrawing the line? Such a big fan now.
You've got it exactly right. The still portions are traced back. Sometimes I loop in cycles of 2, but usually 3 feels pretty good. The key is to zoom in pretty closely and match up the best you can to the original line. If you TRY to make it wiggle you'll find the line bouncing all over the place; if you do your best to trace the line exactly, human error provides a nice little "boil" to your line. Pretty neat trick, huh?
Thanks for being so cool about it ! Incredibly neat and gives it a nice quality.
I'm currently working on a creator owned comic and would love to, eventually, be able to create movement in my characters like this or your Zoro/Usopp/Nami Cycles. Haven't tried Flash yet but hoping to get a handle on it soon! Unless this is done in Photoshop, then I'm just a doof lol.
Your work is definitely going into the "outrageously inspiring" list. Thank you.
This one (and the One Piece ones) I did in Flash, though more recently I've been animating in Photoshop. They both have their pros and cons. Good luck with your comic!
